Roaring Sky

Film installation, digitilized super8, loop of 02:15, 2024.

Vibrant sunsets are reflected in drifting clouds captured by stop-motion. By flipping the image upside down, a shift in perspective transforms the sky into an active participant, redefining its agency. The aesthetic of the super8, accentuated by occasional jumps, up-scaled dirt, and traces of hand processing allow the materiality to take over and control the process. The haunting soundtrack is created with a self-built wooden instrument known as a daxophone, its melodies crafted from a delicate interplay of strokes.
