Roaring Sky

Film installation, digitilized super8, loop of 02:15, 2024.

Sunsets reflected in drifting clouds, captured by stop-motion. By flipping the image upside down, the shift in perspective transforms the sky into an active participant, redefining its agency. The aesthetic of the super8, accentuated by occasional jumps, up-scaled dirt, and traces of hand processing allow the materiality to take over. The soundtrack is created with a self-built wooden instrument known as a daxophone, crafted from an interplay of strokes.
