EVEN A DEAD STAR CAN BE A LIGHTHOUSE

What might declining oxygen levels and eutrophication bring about at the edge of the Baltic Sea in a near future? Combining underwater footage with 16mm phytograms made from marine algae, the film moves between microscopic observation and drifting marine landscapes. Whispering, layered voices form a speculative language of algae reflecting on altered conditions and survival. The work unfolds through light, movement, and sound, presenting the sea as a space of fragility, adaptation, and symbiotic survival.
